The Wisconsin Badgers are on the road tonight in Big Ten College Basketball action when they take on the Minnesota Golden Gophers. The game is scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on ESPN. Currently the College Basketball Betting Odds for the game have the Badgers favored on the road to pick up the win.
Wisconsin has been very solid in road games this season, winners of eight of their 10 contests away from home. The Badgers have been the class of the Big Ten all year and they've got a chance to win the Big Ten outright with a win here tonight. Already owners of a game and a half lead over Maryland in the race, the Badgers have two games left, both being on the road and after tonight's contest the Badgers will play at Ohio State Sunday prior to the Big Ten Tournament. Wisconsin just needs to win one of those two games in order to seal up the regular season title.
Wisconsin still has quite a bit of work to do in order to potentially lock up a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament and bracketologists have them cemented as a No. 2 seed.
But nice wins at Minnesota and Ohio State plus a Big Ten Tournament title would be tough to ignore.
Minnesota had aspirations of being an NCAA Tournament team this season but the year went sideways once they entered Big Ten play. Losers of 10 of their 16 games to date, the Gophers are well outside the ranks of the best in the conference and will have a tough road once the tournament begins next week.
The Gophers did just pick up a nice road win in East Lansing, knocking off Michigan State 96-90 in overtime. The 96 points scored by the Gophers were the most given up by the Spartans all season and it ended a three-game skid for Minnesota. Tonight they'll have to stop Frank Kaminsky and Sam Dekker from having their typical games. The Gophers give up almost 67 points per game on average, Wisconsin comes in averaging 72 points a game.
In tonight's game Wisconsin will beat up Minnesota. The Gophers out-rebounded Wisconsin in the last game, but the Badgers still won by 10 points.
