The Michigan State Spartans welcome in the Purdue Boilermakers tonight in Big Ten College Basketball action. The game is scheduled for an 8:00 p.m. start time and it will be televised live on the Big Ten Network. Currently the College Basketball Betting Odds for the game have Michigan State listed as a decent favorite to pick up the win.

Michigan State and Purdue need to continue winning as they head into the Big Ten Tournament, but the Boilermakers would probably benefit more from a victory tonight. Michigan State has probably already done enough to get in based on merit and pedigree alone, but note that Purdue does have one more conference win for the year.

The Boilermakers have won eight of their last 10 games overall and they can't afford to drop their final two. Purdue has some very poor losses this season but they also own some nice victories as well. Picking up a win at the Breslin Center would certainly be a nice addition to their resume. These teams will only play once this season unless they happen to meet up again in the conference tournament. 

A.J. Hammons has Purdue sitting in third place overall, but a win by MSU here puts them in third place heading into the final game of the season. Hammons is an 11-point, six-rebound per game player and will battle down on the blocks with Branden Dawson. Michigan State enters tonight's game having lost two straight overall, a high-scoring affair to Minnesota and a low-scoring one against Wisconsin.

Denzel Valentine has played very well for the Spartans and he's going to be the difference in tonight's game. Sparty has been solid for the most part at home all season and tonight they win there for the final time this season.
