The Tulsa Golden Hurricane welcome in the Cincinnati Bearcats tonight in American Conference College Basketball action. The game is scheduled for a 9:00 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on the CBS Sports Network. Currently the College Basketball Betting Odds for the game have the Golden Hurricane favored by a close margin to win.
Tulsa has been the best overall team in the American this season, posting a 14-2 record to this point. The Golden Hurricane just picked up an overtime road win at Memphis, the fourth straight win for Tulsa. Back-to-back losses to SMU and Connecticut in the beginning of February haven't deterred them from a big goal in winning the regular season conference crown. Cincinnati has been an interesting team all season, winners of 20 games to date without having a single player averaging double digits in scoring.
Cincinnati has won three straight games and they look to be heading to the NCAA Tournament no matter what happens in tonight's game. They're just a couple of point underdogs at Tulsa, which at first doesn't seem high enough. The Bearcats are not a great offensive team, but on the defensive end of the floor Cincinnati is one of the better teams in America. Opponents are scoring just 55 a game against Cincinnati, which ranks sixth-best nationally. Offensive, Cincinnati scores just 62 points on average, making most of their games close.
Tulsa isn't a high-scoring team either, averaging just under 66 per contest. Defensively they have been decent as well in allowing just 60.5 points per game to opponents and they are a pretty solid team at rebounding the basketball. James Woodard and Shaquille Harrison are both double digit scorers for Tulsa.
This will be the first matchup between these schools this season and the only one, unless they meet up in the conference tournament. Tulsa has really been playing well and tonight they pick up a win at home between two solid defensive clubs.
