The Iowa Hawkeyes and Indiana Hoosiers meet up tonight in Big Ten College Basketball action. The game is scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on ESPN. Currently the College Basketball Betting Odds for the game have the Hoosiers favored to pick up the win at home.
Indiana has been pretty solid in home games this season, equally being as poor on the road. For the last month the Hoosiers have alternated wins and losses as well, going 4-5 the last nine games overall and 4-6 the last 10. Tom Crean's team should have no problem making the NCAA Tournament, but they obviously have to be more consistent in order to have a happy March.
Iowa and Indiana have 19-10 records overall, but the Hawkeyes are tied for fourth place overall in the Big Ten with Michigan State and Ohio State. Indiana is a game behind those three, making tonight's game even more important.
Both of Indiana's final two games are at home against these Hawkeyes and Michigan State on Saturday. Yogi Ferrell leads the Hoosiers in scoring at 16 points per game, adding five assists as well. James Blackmon Jr. is just under 16 points per game and is a five-plus rebound per game player as well. Indiana has a lot of talent on their team but the inability to play well consistently has been a problem.
Iowa does not score nearly as many points as Indiana, but the Hawkeyes are on fire having won four straight games, including two on the road. Their final two games come against the Hoosiers tonight and Northwestern at home on Saturday. The Hawkeyes rebound the basketball well with their solid front line, led by Aaron White, Jarrod Uthoff and Adam Woodbury. The Hoosiers can't match up with Iowa at those positions, giving the Hawkeyes an advantage.
Iowa is playing well and that will continue tonight. The Hawkeyes are going to pick up a tough win on the road, cementing themselves into the NCAA Tournament.
