The Miami Hurricanes host the North Carolina Tar Heels today in ACC College Basketball action. The game is scheduled for a 2:00 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on CBS. Currently the College Basketball Betting Odds for the game have the Tar Heels favored by a small amount to get the win on the road.
Miami is fighting to find a way into the NCAA Tournament. The Hurricanes are on the outside looking in by bracketologists, which doesn't guarantee anything, but those guys are usually pretty close. North Carolina is definitely in the tournament themselves, but the Heels have been inconsistent. In fact, UNC comes into today's game going 2-5 the last seven games overall. Not good.
In today's contest a win for Miami would help them get where they want to go. UNC can't really afford to drop this one after losing at home earlier this week to rival NC State, a game where the Heels posted only 46 points. Carolina could do nothing right in that contest, connecting for 34.5 percent of their shots and making only three triples.
UNC sports a record of 5-4 in road games this season, Miami is 10-5 at home. Angel Rodriguez is a very solid point guard that will match up with Carolina's Marcus Paige. That matchup should be a good one and if both players have big games, this game should be interesting.
Miami owns four straight wins over the Heels, but North Carolina won the previous 10 games in the series. The teams are scheduled to play only once this season and Carolina needs to find a way to stop the skid. The Heels have a big front line and they are one of the best rebounding teams in the country. Miami is not a good rebounding team and that should give UNC an advantage in this one tonight.
Kennedy Meeks and Brice Johnson will be too much to handle as UNC finds a way to pick up a win on the road in this one.
