Saturday college basketball and we will see the Louisville Cardinals travel to the Donald L. Tucker Civic Center to take on the Florida State Seminoles. The game has a start time of 12:00 pm (Eastern) and will be televised on ESPN 2. Current Vegas betting odds have the Cardinals listed as 4 point favorites, while the total is set at 125.
Analysis: The Louisville Cardinals come in off back to back hard fought wins over Miami and Georgia Tech. The wins now has Louisville at 21-6 overall and 10-5 in the ACC, while going 6-3 on the road so far. The Cardinals have gone 5-12-2 ATS in their last 19 games following a S.U. win and 3-8-1 ATS in their last 12 games following a ATS loss. Louisville has been a decent offensive team this year, as they come in ranked 110th in scoring (69.9 ppg), 211th in shooting (42.8%), 312th in 3 point shooting (30.4%) and 272nd in FT shooting (66.3%). Defensively the Cardinals have been excellent, ranking 19th in points allowed (58.9 ppg),14th in defensive FG% (38.0%) and 12th in 3 point defense (28.8%).
The Florida State Seminoles come in having lost their last two games in a row, after they had won 3 of 4. The Noles are now just 15-14 on the year, including just 7-9 in the ACC. FSU has been solid at home where they have gone 11-5, but they are just 4-3 at home in the ACC. The Noles have gone 10-1 ATS in their last 11 vs. the ACC and 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record. The Seminoles have been a very average offensive team this year, ranking 171st in scoring (67.6 ppg), 68th in shooting (46.0%), 283rd in 3 point shooting (31.4%) and 252nd in FT shooting (66.9%). The defense for this team has not been that good as they come in ranked 195th in points allowed (67.1 ppg), 122nd in defensive FG% (41.8%) and 79th in 3 point defense (32.0%).
Pick: Going with the Under here. Plain and Simple, the Cardinals just can't score right now as they have scored just 55.3 ppg in their last 3 games. The loss of Chris jones has really hurt this team offensively and they will be facing an FSU squad that has played solid defense at home lately, allowing just 62.8 ppg (Regulation) in heir last 5 at home. Defensively the Cardinals have been excellent all year and have allowed just 104 total points in theri last 2 games. The Defense has to pick up the slack for that bad offense and I feel they will do so once again today. Both teams are horrid from long range and at the charity stripe, so don't expect many extra points from those two areas on the floor. This game should not reall 120 points at all.
