Big 12 College Basketball Kansas State Wildcats at Kansas Jayhawks Start Time, Betting Odds, Free Pick

The ninth-ranked Kansas Jayhawks welcome their in-state rival Kansas State Wildcats today in Big 12 College Basketball action. The game is scheduled for a 2:00 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on ESPN. Currently the Betting Odds for the game have Kansas favored to pick up the rivalry win.

Kansas is favored by a comfortable margin in this one, laying double digits against a Kansas State team that certainly could use a big win. The Wildcats have already dropped nine games on the season and trying to knock off the rival Jayhawks won't be easy in Lawrence. The Big 12 has been arguably the best conference in the country this season with several quality teams. Kansas, though, has just one loss on the season from the conference slate on the road at Iowa State.

The Jayhawks don't have the No. 1 overall draft pick type of player on the roster that Bill Self has had in the past, but this year's group is certainly a good one. They are lead by Perry Ellis and Frank Mason III, a pair of players that average in double figures and are very good all-around. Kansas has won all nine games on their own floor this season and they've on three in a row overall.

Kansas State is not a good road team. The Wildcats have picked up a win in just one of their five games away from home with the one win coming at Oklahoma in overtime three weeks ago. The Wildcats have a trio of players that average in double figures, led by Marcus Foster and his 13.8 per game.

The Jayhawks have won six of the last seven matchups in this series, but Kansas State won the most recent contest last February. Foster had 20 points in that game, which was just the fourth for the Wildcats since the 1993-94 season. Kansas has beaten Kansas State in 19 of 20 games at Phog Allen, including each of the last eight games by an average of more than 20 points in those games.

Kansas will be just too good once again in this one.
