The Indiana Hoosiers are on the road tonight in Big Ten College Basketball, taking on the Purdue Boilermakers. The game is scheduled for a 9:00 p.m. start time and it will be televised live on the Big Ten Network. Currently the Betting Odds for the game have the Boilermakers favored by a couple of buckets in this game.
Indiana is not a very good road team. The Hoosiers have played only four road games to date, winning two of those contests, but they really haven't played well. The Hoosiers have seen a ton of time in home games, playing there 13 times already this season. The comforts of home often aren't available on the road and tonight Purdue will look to muck the game up and make it difficult for Indiana to get out into transition and score.
Purdue comes into the game scoring 72.5 points per game, almost nine points fewer than Indiana scores. The Boilermakers are just 4-3 in the Big Ten and can continue to climb up the standings with a win tonight. Make note that Purdue is favored to beat Indiana in this game and that is no accident. The Boilermakers bring a much bigger starting lineup to tonight's game, looking to pound the interior against Indiana that doesn't have a single starter that's 6-feet-7 or higher.
The Hoosiers will rely on Yogi Ferrell and James Blackmon Jr., a pair of guards that are very good at controlling the game. Ferrell is one of the best guards in the conference and his running mate sure can score. The Hoosiers also have a double digit scorer in Troy Williams that will be counted on again tonight.
But Purdue should feed the basketball to A.J. Hammons on the inside. Hammons is an 11-point, six rebound per game guy and no one on Indiana's team can stop him. Purdue also has some pretty solid guards as well, who will be looking to play well in this game.
Purdue and Indiana games are always interesting. These players have known each other based on growing up playing AAU and being an in-state battle makes this one high on the priority list to watch. Purdue, at home, is going to be too tough to beat.
