Big Ten College Basketball Nebraska Cornhuskers at Michigan Wolverines Start Time, Betting Odds

The Nebraska Cornhuskers and Michigan Wolverines meet up tonight in Big Ten College Basketball action. The game is scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on ESPN. Currently the Betting Odds for the game have the Wolverines favored to pick up the win.

Michigan and Nebraska are the only game going tonight in the Big Ten as Michigan State and Rutgers was postponed due to the big snow storm on the east coast. Michigan nearly beat Wisconsin on Saturday night, coming up just a bit short in what would have been the biggest win of the season for the Wolverines. On the other hand, they can't afford to lose this game tonight against a Nebraska team that is very poor on the road, winning just one of their five true road games to date.

The Wolverines have won nine games at home this season, but did drop games to NJIT, Eastern Michigan and SMU at Crisler Center this season. Michigan has been very good at home under head coach John Beilein, but those three losses are probably going to keep them out of the NCAA Tournament. Michigan sits at 12-8 for the year, but 15-5 would look a lot better. Beilein's team is playing without its best player in Caris LeVert, who went down with a bad foot injury that required surgery last week. Now they're left trying to figure out the pieces of what could have been a successful season.

But it isn't all over. Michigan has many games left on the schedule that are winnable, tonight being the most important one. Nebraska comes in with two of the best scorers in the conference in Terran Petteway (19.6 ppg) and Shavon Shiles (16.7 ppg) but they will be tested against a stingy Michigan defense.

The Cornhuskers have won two straight games coming into tonight, beating both Minnesota and Michigan State. Nebraska also beat both Rutgers and Illinois within their last five games, going 4-1 in those five games. Michigan has been able to slow teams down this season, allowing only 62 points per game.

Michigan's problem, though, has been scoring points, averaging just under 65 per game themselves. Zak Irvin and Derrick Walton Jr. are both going to need big games, much like they had against Wisconsin. Both played 40 minutes in that game, led Michigan in scoring and played well on the defensive end. Michigan cannot afford to get caught sulking in this game coming off the loss to Wisconsin.
