The 20th-ranked Baylor Bears hit the road tonight to take on the Oklahoma State Cowboys in Big 12 College Basketball action. The game is scheduled for a 9:00 p.m. start time and it will be televised live on ESPNnews. Currently the Betting Odds for the game have the Cowboys favored to pull off the upset in this one.
Oklahoma State is hosting a Baylor team that has won four of its last five games overall. The Bears only loss in that span was a two-point defeat at Kansas State and Baylor is playing well as a team. But going on the road, especially in the Big 12, can be a very tough task for any team. The Bears are underdogs here tonight with their weak 3-2 record away from home, taking on an Oklahoma State team that is very good at home.
The Cowboys have picked up nine wins in 10 games inside their own building, losing only to a Maryland team early in the season that not many thought would be as good as they have been this year. The Pokes have an athletic big man in Le'Bryan Nash, a 17.3-point, 5.8-rebound per game guy that can have a big game tonight. Phil Forte is shooting 41 percent from downtown this year and is second in the Big 12 in scoring at 17.5 points per game. The combo will be tough for Baylor to defend, but note that the Bears are one of the best rebounding teams in America.
If Baylor is able to dominate on the glass and gets second-chance looks, the Bears are going to win. Oklahoma State ranks 180th in the country in rebounding and although they are a very solid defensive team, allowing Baylor to do what it does best will be tough to stop.
The Bears are no slouch either on defense, allowing opponents to score only 57.8 points per game. Rico Gathers might be the best rebounder in America, pulling down a dozen per game. He provides the Bears with an inside presence and that will be utilized tonight. Baylor also has solid play from Royce O'Neale and Taurean Prince as well. Baylor might be underdogs in this game, but they're going to keep it close.
Baylor has the better overall team and their rebounding could be the key to a road win tonight.
