The Alabama Crimson Tide travel to take on the Arkansas Razorbacks tonight in SEC College Basketball action. The game is scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on ESPN2. Currently the odds for the game have Arkansas favored by a couple of possessions to pick up the win.
Arkansas recently dropped out of the college basketball rankings because of back-to-back losses to Tennessee and Ole Miss. The most recent loss to the Rebels was an eye-opener as the Razorbacks gave up 96 points to Ole Miss in their own building. Arkansas allowed Ole Miss to shoot better than 56 percent from the floor and despite shooting 30-of-39 from the free-throw line, the Hogs had no shot to win.
Both Alabama and Arkansas come into tonight's game with 2-2 records and both come in having lost their last two games. The Crimson Tide have recently dropped games to South Carolina and Kentucky, but are looking to rally the troops tonight and pick up a win over the Hogs. Levi Randolph averages 15 points a game for Alabama, which plays a much slower style of game than Arkansas does. Both Ricky Tarrant and Rodney Cooper have to play well for tonight for the Tide to stay close in Arkansas.
Arkansas will look to run with basketball tonight, averaging 83 points a game. In SEC games, though, Arkansas has put up fewer points against all four opponents. The uptempo-style of basketball will cause problems for Alabama in this game, giving the Hogs an advantage. Plus they're playing at home, and even after giving up 96 points to Ole Miss in their last home game, they'll be ready tonight. The Arkansas coaching staff will get the Hogs to play much better defensively tonight.
Bobby Portis and Michael Qualls give the Razorbacks the two best players on the court tonight. They will both have big games tonight as the Hogs look to rebound from a couple of bad performances. Look for a comfortable win here in this one.
