SEC Basketball LSU Tigers vs Florida Gators Betting Odds, Free Pick

SEC basketball and we will see the LSU Tigers travel to the O'Connell Center in Gainseville, Florida  to take on the Florida Gators. The game has a start time of 7:00 pm (Eastern) and will be televised on ESPN. Current Vegas betting odds have Florida listed as 11 point favorites, while the total is set at 133.

Analysis:  The LSU Tigers are off a tough 67-64 home loss to Texas A&M. Still the Tigers have been on a bit of a roll as they have won 10 of their last 12 games. LSU comes in at 13-4 overall and 2-2 in the SEC. LSU us 5-0-1 ATS in their last 6 games following a S.U. loss and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 road games, but just 1-3-1 ATS in their last 5 vs. Southeastern. The Tigers have been a very good offensive team this year, ranking 38th in scoring (75.1 ppg), 82nd in shooting (45.5%), 220th in 3 point shooting (32.7%) and 87th in FT shooting (71.5%). Defensively the Tigers have not been so good this year, ranking 213th in points allowed (67.6 ppg), 69th in defensive FG% (39.7%) and 108th in 3 point defense (32.1%).

The Florida Gators come in off a bad road loss at the hands of the Georgia Bulldogs. It was the first SEC loss for the Gators in their last 25 conference games. Florida is now just 10-7 on the year, but they are still 3-1 in SEC play and they have gone 7-2 at home. The Gators are 8-2 ATS in their last 10 vs. the SEC and 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games following a S.U. loss, but just 2-8 ATS in their last 10 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of greater than .600. The Gators have been an average offensive team this year, ranking 181st in scoring (67.6 ppg), 93rd in shooting (45.2%), 187th in 3 point shooting (33.9%) and 275th in FT shooting (65.9%). Defensively the Gators have been very good, as they come in ranked 19th in points allowed (57.7 ppg), 61st in defensive FG% (39.0%) and 190th in 3 point defense (33.8%).

Pick: Im a big fan of big home faves getting the pace where they want it and for Florida that will mean a slow down game with more defense than offense. The Gators have been an excellent defensive team this year, especially at home where they have allowed just 51.8 ppg on the year. The Tigers have been a good offensive team this year, as they have score 75 ppg overall, but in their 4 SEC games (Regulation Only) they have averaged just 67.8 ppg. The Tigers have allowed just 67.6 ppg overall and 67.5 ppg in SEC play (Regulation). Very hard to see many Florida home games putting up more than 130 points this year especially with the pace they play at and the defense they play on this floor.
