College football on Monday night and the Ohio State Buckeyes will take on the Oregon Ducks at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas in the first ever true national title game.. The game has a start time of 8:30 pm (Eastern) and will be televised on ESPN. Current Vegas betting odds have the Ducks listed as 6 point favorites, while the total is set at 74.5.  

Analysis: The Ohio State Buckeyes got to this game by Beating Alabama 42-35 in the Sugar Bowl. Overall this year the Buckeyes went 13-1 and won the Big 10 title along the way when they beat Wisconsin 59-0. The Buckeyes are 9-2-1 ATS in their last 12 vs. Pac-12, 7-3 ATS in their last 10 neutral site games and 33-16-2 ATS vs. a team with a winning record. Ohio State was a very strong offensive team this year, ranking 9th in total yards, 52nd in passing, 10th in rushing and 5th in scoring (45.0 ppg). The defense for the Buckeyes has been very solid for this team, ranking 16th in yards allowed, 15th vs the pass, 34th vs the run and 26th in points allowed (22.1 ppg). 

The Oregon Ducks got to this game by routing the Florida State Seminoles in the Rose Bowl. Overall the Ducks went 13-1 on the season and also won the Pac-12 title. Oregon is 21-6 ATS in their last 27 games after scoring more than 40 points in their previous game, 0-7 ATS vs. a team with a winning record. and 7-2 ATS in their last 9 non-conference games. The Ducks have been a strong offensive team this year, ranking 3rd in total yards, 11th in passing, 18th in rushing and 2nd in scoring (47.2). The defense for the Ducks has not been as good has not been that great, ranking 86th in yards allowed, 111th vs the pass, 51st vs the run and 27th in points allowed (22.3 ppg).  

Pick:  I will go with the Ducks in this one. I know that the Buckeyes have been on a roll, but they still have a young QB going up against Marcus Mariota, who has much more experience and is just the better overall QB. The Ducks offense has been unstoppable this year and the Buckeyes did allow 35 points to Alabama last week. For the Ducks they come in having shut down an FSU offense that has been very good this year with Winston at QB. If the Ducks can shutdown Winston they should be able to shutdown Jones. I just don't see the Buckeyes scoring enough points to keep this one close or win it.
