Pro Football Odds Indianapolis Colts vs Denver Broncos Free Pick

NFL football on Sunday afternoon and the Indianapolis Colts will travel to Sports Authority Field to take on the Denver Broncos. The game has a start time of 4:40 pm (Eastern) and will be televised on CBS. Current Vegas betting odds have the Broncos listed as 7 point favorites, while the total is set at 54.

Analysis:  Heading into the playoffs the Colts finished the year at 11-5 overall, but they were 6-0 vs their Division and 5-5 vs the rest of the NFL, while beating just 2 teams all year that are in the playoffs. They started off this playoff season with a sound 26-10 over the Cincinnati Bengals last week. The Colts are 9-3 ATS in their last 12 games following a SU win of more than 14 points and 18-7-1 ATS in their last 26 vs. AFC, but 1-4-1 ATS vs. a team with a winning record. Indianapolis has been a very good offensive team this year, ranking 3rd in total yards, 1st in passing, 22nd in rushing and 6th in scoring (28.6 ppg). The defense for the Colts has been decent, ranking 11th in yards allowed, 12th vs the pass, 18th vs the run and 19th in points allowed (23.1 ppg).

The Denver Broncos once again have won the AFC West as they posted a 12-0 record on the year, which includes a perfect 8-0 mark at home. Earlier in the year the Broncos won a hard fought 31-24 game over these same Colts and now look to win again and earn a trip to the AFC Title game. The Broncos are 20-8-1 ATS in their last 29 games on grass, but 0-7 ATS the last 7 in the series and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 playoff games. The Broncos have again been a very good offensive team, ranking 4th in  total yards, 4th in passing, 15th in rushing and 2nd in scoring (30.1 ppg). The Bronco defense has been very good as well this year, ranking 3rd in yards allowed, 9th vs the pass, 2nd vs the run and 16th in points allowed (22.1 ppg)

Pick: I will go with the Under in this one. The Broncos have become more of a run oriented team and it has help keep the scoring down for the most part in their games. I look for them to employ that same game plan here as it will also keep the Colts offense on the sidelines. The Colts have had problems stopping the run and with looking to protect Peyton it's even more of a reason to expect the Broncos to run the ball even more. The Colts offense has been very good this year but the Broncos have played excellent defense at home, where they have allowed just 20.8 ppg so far. I feel this game will have limited possessions from both teams and that should really keep the scoring down in this one.
