Its the Russell Atletic Bowl and the Oklahoma Sooners will take on the Clemson Tigers at the Florida Citrus Bowl in Orlando, Florida. The game has a start time of 5:30 pm (Eastern) and will be televised on ESPN. Current Vegas odds have the Sooners listed as 5 point favorites, while the total is set at 51.  

Analysis:  The Oklahoma Sooners were expected by many to contend for one of the playoff spots this year, but things did not go as planned. The Sooners did have a solid 8-4 season, but they were hoping for a whole lot more. Oklahoma is 6-1 ATS in their last 7 non-conference games and 24-9 ATS in their last 33 games following a S.U. loss. The Over is 12-3-1 in the Soonner's last 16 games overall and 7-0 in their last 7 games following a S.U. loss. The Sooners have been a good offensive team this year, ranking 20th in yards, 83rd in passing, 9th in rushing and 11th in scoring (38.9 ppg). The defense for the Sooners has been decent this year, ranking 53rd in yards allowed, 117th vs the pass, 10th vs the run and 44th in points allowed (24.8 ppg).

The Clemson Tigers lost a ton of talent from last year's squad, but still they had a nice year as they forged a 9-3 record overall, that including a 6-2 mark in the ACC. The Tigers are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 neutral site games, but just 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games following a S.U. win. The Under is 9-1 in Clemson's last 10 games following a S.U. win and 7-3 in their last 10 Bowl games. The Tigers have bee a rather average offensive squad this year, ranking 60th in total yards, 43rd in passing, 81st in rushing and 59th in scoring (30.1 ppg). The defense for Clemson is one of the very best in the nation, ranking 1st in yards allowed, 3rd vs the pass, 5th vs the run and 6th in points allowed (17.6 ppg).  

Pick: Well I will look at the over in this game. The Sooners have played many high scoring games this year, as their 9-3 log to the over would indicate and their games vs bowl teams this year have averaged 64 ppg. The Clemson offense has had its issues this year, but it did look better down the stretch and will be taking on an Oklahoma defense that has allowed 30 ppg vs bowl teams this year. The Clemson defense has been very stout this year, but this Sooners offense has put ip 39 ppg overall and 34 ppg vs bowl teams. They will score on Clemson. Both offenses should have their way in this one.
