The Oakland Raiders travel to take on the Denver Broncos in NFL Football action later today. The game is scheduled for a 4:25 p.m. start time and it will be televised live on CBS. Currently the betting odds for the game have Denver as a massive favorite to blow out the Raiders.
Oakland is getting two touchdowns in this one, for obvious reasons. The Broncos can certainly benefit from picking up a win here, earning the second overall seed in the AFC. Peyton Manning and the Broncos stumbled a bit on Monday Night Football, losing at Cincinnati, but now they have an option to pick up a win over one of the worst teams in the league.
Denver has history on its side when it comes to playing Oakland, too, winning five in a row and covering the number in each of those games. The Broncos have picked up those victories by an average of three touchdowns as well.
Oakland has won three of its last five games overall, but each of those games came at home. The two road games were not pretty, though, with Oakland getting beat down by both St. Louis and Kansas City by a combined 83-13. Tony Sparano has done a pretty decent job helping Oakland save some face this season, but the Raiders are just a terrible team away from home, losing all seven games this year.
Manning has the weapons with Demaryius Thomas, Emmanuel Sanders and Julius Thomas. They should be able to get the football against an Oakland defense that probably has checked out by this point.
Denver’s defense could be the decisive factor, though. Oakland has struggled offensively all season and the Broncos have been very good against the run. If Oakland has no ability to run the football at all, it doesn’t bode well for them lining up and throwing it every down.
