NFL Free Pick Cincinnati Bengals vs Pittsburgh Steelers Vegas Odds

NFL Week 17 and the Cincinnati Bengals will travel to Heinz Field to take on the Pittsburgh Steelers. The game has a start time of 8:25 pm (Eastern) and will be televised on NBC. Current Vegas odds have Pittsburgh listed as 3.5 point favorites, while the total is set at 48.

Analysis:  The Cincinnati Bengals come in with a 10-4-1 mark on the year that includes a 5-2 mark on the road. The Bengals still lead the AFC North, but a loss here would give the Steelers the Division. The Bengals are  9-2 ATS in their last 11 games in December and 19-8-1 ATS in their last 28 games after allowing more than 350 total yards in their previous game, but just 8-20-1 ATS in their last 29 meetings with Pittsburgh. Cincinnati has been a very average offensive squad this year, ranking 15th in total yards, 22nd vs the pass, 5th vs the run and 15th in scoring (23.2 ppg). The Defense for the Bengals comes in ranked 22nd in yards allowed, 16th vs the pass, 23rd vs the run and 9th in points allowed (21.1 ppg).

The Pittsburgh Steelers followed up back to back road wins over the Falcons and Bengals with a solid home win over the Chiefs last week.  The Steelers are now in the playoffs and if they win here they will win the AFC North. The Steelers are 7-0 ATS vs. a team with a winning record and 7-3 ATS in their last 10 vs. AFC North, but the home team is 8-17-1 ATS the last 26 in the series Pittsburgh has been a solid offensive team this year, ranking 2nd in total yards, 2nd in passing, 13th in rushing and 7th in scoring (27.3 ppg). The defense for Pittsburgh has not been great, ranking 20th in yards allowed, 28th vs the pass, 6th vs the run and 19th in points allowed (23.4 ppg).

Pick: Going with the Under in this one. This game will not be the high scoring one as it was in the first meeting this year as both teams have really geared up to run the ball of late and both teams have played solid defense of late, as the Bengals have allowed 13 or less in 4 of their last 6 games, while Pittsburgh has allowed just 17.7 ppg in their last 3 games. Pittsburgh home games have been rather high scoring this year, but Bengal road games have averaged just 36.4 ppg. This is a huge game for both teams and tyhat usually means a low scoring conservative game. Lots of running and defense in this one.
