NFL Sunday Washington Redskins at New York Giants Start Time, Odds, Free Pick

Hapless New York Giants Have No Interest in Playing for Pride

The New York Giants welcome in the Washington Redskins in NFL Sunday action today. The game is scheduled for a 1 p.m. start time and it will be televised live on FOX. Currently the odds for the game have the Giants favored by a comfortable margin in this one.

The Giants and Redskins have both underachieved this season. Both teams are battling with turmoil and the Redskins are talking about choosing the often injured, often struggling Robert Griffin III over current head coach Jay Gruden. That alone speaks to the problems the Redskins have in their organization that they'd pick having to hire another head coach.

New York is struggling with injuries, getting older and the inability to stop opponents from running the football right at them. The Giants give up 134.5 yards per game on the ground, which is the third-worst mark in the league. That has to improve in this game. The Giants have won and covered the number in three straight games over Washington.

The Skins are also playing in their third road game in four weeks, which has to be wearing them down. Washington has given up 29 sacks in the last five games to opponents, all five of which were losses. The boiling point came last week in a 24-0 beatdown by the St. Louis Rams. During the streak Washington also suffered losses to Minnesota, Tampa Bay, San Francisco and Indy.

New York QB Eli Manning has thrown for better than 3,300 yards and 23 touchdowns this season. Earlier this season the Giants drilled Washington, 45-14, with Manning throwing four touchdowns and 300 yards through the air. He has found a new favorite target as well in Odell Beckham Jr., a rookie wide receiver that has taken the NFL by storm.

Expect more of that in this game as well. Washington's defense hasn't been the worst in the league but it certainly hasn't done them any favors, either.

The Giants are the better team, playing at home, and they'll pick up the win in this one.

Free Pick: NY Giants 34, Washington 21
