The Jacksonville Jaguars travel to take on the Baltimore Ravens in NFL Sunday action. The game is scheduled for a 1:00 p.m. start time and it will be televised live on CBS. Currently the odds for the game have the Ravens favored in this one by a couple of touchdowns.
Baltimore's 8-5 record has them sitting in the second spot of the AFC North with the Pittsburgh Steelers, both behind the Cincinnati Bengals. A win here would give them their ninth on the season, making them the fourth squad in the AFC to reach that number. This is a huge game for the Ravens, and they are at home, which is why the point spread is so high. Jacksonville continues to be one of the worst teams in the league record-wise, making this a game the Ravens cannot afford to drop.
Joe Flacco has been tossing the rock to Steve Smith quite a bit recently. The duo have found a nice chemistry on the field this season and having Torrey Smith on the opposite side of the field is a nice commodity as well. Flacco has 22 touchdowns on the season, but one of the Ravens' best weapons has been Justin Forsett, who has rushed for nearly 1,100 yards and has eight touchdowns himself this season. The Ravens offense should be able to move the football against the Jaguar defense in this one, both through the air and on the ground.
Jacksonville has given up more than 244 yards through the air per game while allowing 132.5 yards on the ground per game to opponents, which ranks 28th in the league. The Jaguars have won just two games this season, both of which came in home games over the Cleveland Browns and New York Giants. On the road, the Jaguars are 0-6 for the season. Turnovers have cost the Jaguars this season quite a bit as they sit at -8 for the season.
Blake Bortles looks like he's going to be a nice quarterback moving forward, but the Jaguars seem to still need some time to get it all figured out. Baltimore has beaten all five teams with losing records on their schedule this season. That shouldn't change in this one as the Ravens are in need of a win to stay in the playoff chase.
