NCAA basketball on Saturday and we will see the Florida State Seminoles take on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish at Purcell Pavilion at the Joyce Center in South Bend, Indiana. The game has a start time of 8:00 pm (Eastern) and will be televised on ESPN 2. Vegas odds have the Fighting Irish listed as 10.5 point favorites, while the total sits at 140.

Analysis: The Florida State Seminoles have had a mediocre 4-4 start to their year and their will be their first true road game of the young season. The Noles are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games following a SU win of more than 20 points, but just 5-15-1 ATS in their last 21 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record and 5-11 ATS in their last 16 Saturday games. Florida state has been an average offensive team, ranking 146th in scoring (70.2 ppg), 36th in shooting (48.4%), 351st in 3 point shooting (20.4%) and 271st in FT shooting (64.8%). Defensively this has not been a very sound team, ranking 205th in points allowed (67.8 ppg), 157th in defensive FG% (41.7%) and 279th in 3 point defense (36.4%).

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish cracked the top 25 this week with a 9-1 record that includes an 8-0 record at home. The lone loss for the Irish was a 1 point loss to Providence, but since then they have reeled off 5 straight wins, including a 1 point win over Nationally ranked Michigan State. The Irish are 10-3 ATS in their last 13 games after scoring more than 90 points in their previous game, but just 7-18-1 ATS in their last 26 vs. Atlantic Coast and 6-20-2 ATS in their last 28 home games. Notre Dame has been a very good offensive team in the early going, ranking 9th in scoring (85.1 ppg), 1st in shooting (56.2 ppg), 29th in 3 point shooting (41%) and 82nd in FT shooting (71.9%). The Irish have been decent on defense, ranking 58th in points allowed (60.0 ppg), 72nd in defensive FG% (38.7%) and 140th in 3 point defense (32.1%).  

Pick:  Gonna go with the over in this one. The Irish have been an uptempo team this year and they are the best shooting team in the nation. They will be taking on a Florida State team that has not been very good on defense this year, especially defending the three ball. The Noles have averaged 70.2 ppg and should get enough points to push this one over the total.
