Monday Night Football Atlanta Falcons at Green Bay Packers Start Time, Odds, Free Pick

Kansas City Chiefs vs. Green Bay Packers: Packers Preseason Week 4 Game Preview

The Green Bay Packers welcome in the Atlanta Falcons tonight on Monday Night Football. The game is scheduled for an 8:30 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on ESPN. Currently the odds for the game have the Packers favored by a comfortable margin in this one.

Atlanta won't be playing in a dome tonight, but a frigid, somewhat frozen Lambeau Field in Green Bay. The Packers have no problem playing in the weather, but an indoor team from the south could have some issues in this one. But alas, they're all still professionals, so maybe the weather won't cause too many problems for the Falcons.

Green Bay is tied in the win column with the Detroit Lions in the NFC North, but a win here tonight would push them a half-game in front of the Motor City gang. Detroit has a game in hand over the Packers and the two will take to the field the last week of the season. If Green Bay and Detroit both continue to win, that  game will certainly be a fun one to watch.

An Atlanta win tonight would put them in first place in the NFC South as the New Orleans Saints were drilled on their own turf yesterday. The Falcons are 2-4 in road games this season, but have won their last two games away from home, picking up victories over division foes Tampa Bay and Carolina. This will be a bit different playing on the road, though, as Green Bay is nearly impossible to beat at home.

Aaron Rodgers has looked like an MVP this season and he'll look to take advantage of a Falcon defense that is worst in the league against the pass, giving up 285 yards per game. Atlanta isn't very good against the run either, but they have won three of their last four games overall. If Rodgers can continue his pace and find Jordie Nelson, Randall Cobb and the gang often, Green Bay will put up points.

Matt Ryan will have to play well, getting the football to Roddy White and Julio Jones. Green Bay is not very good against the run (27th — 132 ypg) but Atlanta is not a team build to hand the ball off 30 times per game. If the Falcons can establish the run and move the football they'll be able to hang around, but getting consistent stops on defense against Rodgers and the Packers is close to impossible, especially at Lambeau.

Free Pick: Green Bay 34, Atlanta 17
