College Football Betting Odds Alabama Crimson Tide vs Missouri Tigers

T.J. Yeldon: Heisman Odds and Season Outlook for Alabama's Star RB

The top-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide take on the Missouri Tigers in the SEC Championship Game on Saturday. Currently the College Football Betting Odds for the game have Alabama favored by a couple of touchdowns in this one.

Back in early October when the Crimson Tide lost to Ole Miss on the road, it looked as if Alabama had a chance to miss the college football playoff. Yet, a couple of months later the Tide are ranked No. 1 in the country, came from behind in the Iron Bowl last weekend and have a chance to beat Missouri in the SEC title game.

A win obviously guarantees a spot in the playoff for the Tide. A loss might booth them out. Nick Saban doesn't have his best team this season but the Tide are still very good.

Offensively Blake Sims has done a remarkable job of keeping Alabama at the top of the college football world, with a ton of credit going to offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin. Having two legitimate pros in T.J. Yeldon at running back and Amari Cooper at wide receiver certainly helps. Cooper is the best receiver in the country, catching 103 passes this year for better than 1,500 yards and 14 touchdowns. He's a matchup nightmare for anyone playing a man-based defense and teams looking to double him open up other options for the Tide.

Missouri is playing in the SEC title game for the second straight season. The lone conference loss was an embarrassing one, getting drilled by Georgia 34-0 at home. Since then the Tigers have reeled off six straight wins, picking up big wins, close wins and ugly wins, but they're still the champs of the SEC East.

Slowing down Alabama will be tough, but Missouri has allowed only 19.7 points to opponents this season, which ranks 13th in the country. Alabama averages 37 points per game themselves, having scored 48 and 55 points in back-to-back games.

Missouri has had a great season, but this will be the second straight SEC title game where they come up short to a better opponent. The Crimson Tide are poised for a national championship this season and they'll be the top seed in the playoff with a win in this game. Look for Alabama to pick up a comfortable win in this one.
