College Football Nevada Wolfpack at UNLV Runnin Rebels Start Time, Betting Odds, Free Pick

Cody Fajardo, Nevada

The Nevada Wolfpack take on the UNLV Runnin Rebels in college football action on Saturday night. The game is scheduled for a 10:30 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on ESPNu. Currently the betting odds for the game have the Wolfpack favored in this one by right around double digits.

UNLV has not had a very good season, winning only two games to this point. They're playing at home in the final game of the season after making a bowl one year ago, but this year's squad already has double digits losses. The offense hasn't been good, the defense has been worse and because of that they're around a double digit dog at home to the rival Wolfpack.

Nevada has been inconsistent as well this year, recently as well. The Wolfpack have dropped two straight games to Air Force and Fresno State in conference play and cost themselves a shot at the Mountain West title game. They should be able to get a win in this one, though, as Nevada has Cody Fajardo under center. He's combined for better than 3,000 yards of total offense this season with 27 touchdowns. He's the absolute total package for the Wolfpack and when he plays well, they win football games.

The Rebels are really hurting from a graduating class that had several key players. This year's team hasn't been able to run the football at all, ranking 109th nationally. Falling behind early and having to throw the football a ton is about all the Rebels can do, but it hasn't equated into points for them, as they average just 21.5 per game this season, which also ranks 109th in the country. Opponents have piled it on UNLV too, scoring an average of 37.6 points per game.

Nevada has exceeded 37 points just twice three times this season, going 1-2 in those games. Their defense has not been great, either, surrendering 28 to opponents this year. UNLV might have some troubles getting to 28 points in this game, though, as the offense can't consistently score points. The Rebels posted 35 last week, but it was in a loss to Hawaii.

Overall, UNLV has dropped five straight games. They aren't playing in a bowl game and Nevada is in the midst of a tough stretch to end the season. This is a rivalry game and will be close, but Nevada will be able to pick up the win on the road.

Free Pick: Nevada 33, UNLV 24
