College Football LSU Tigers at Texas A&M Aggies Start Time, Odds, Free Pick

SEC Football: Why Texas A&M and LSU Are Perfect for Thanksgiving Weekend Matchup

The LSU Tigers and Texas A&M Aggies meet up in SEC College Football action on Thanksgiving night. The game is scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on ESPN. Currently the odds for the game have the Tigers favored by about a field goal on the road in this one.

Both LSU and Texas A&M have taken a step back this season, each holding a record of 7-4 on the year. LSU, though, will have a situational edge in this contest over the Aggies because they've won three straight games over Texas A&M by an average of better than two touchdowns per game. Both teams are entering this contest coming off a bye last week and Kyle Field should be geared up and ready to go with the Tigers coming to town.

LSU comes to town with one of the better defenses in college football, allowing only 16.4 points per game, which ranks fifth best in the country. The Tigers have been hit or miss on offense, though, and got shutout in their last game by Arkansas in a 17-0 defeat. LSU lost the week prior as well to Alabama, giving them a losing streak and forcing them to a 3-4 mark in the SEC.

Texas A&M started out blazing the first six weeks of the season, but the conference slate has played a major role against them, going 2-4 the last six games overall. One of those wins, though, came over No. 3 Auburn a couple of weeks ago. The Aggies lost in their last game, just like LSU, and come into their final regular season game looking to get a solid effort on both sides of the football.

The Tigers have the better overall defense between the two schools. They should also be able to run the rock against a less than great Texas A&M defense that gives up 255 yards per game to SEC opponents on the ground this season. LSU loves to run the football and should be able to hand it off to Leonard Fournette, Kenny Hilliard and the gang and feel good about it. The Tigers are also better at hanging onto the football with a +2 turnover differential on the season compared to Texas A&M's -6 mark.

Both teams will be playing in a bowl game, but LSU is the team that gets it done here and finds the eighth win on the year. The Tigers will run the ball, play defense and pick up the road win.

Free Pick: LSU 28, Texas A&M 23
