Pro Football Betting Odds Cincinnati Bengals vs Houston Texans Free Pick

Sunday NFL and we will see the Cincinnati Bengals take on the Houston Texans at Reliant Stadium in Houston, Texas. The game has a start time of 1:00 pm (Eastern) and will be televised on CBS. Current Vegas odds have the Texans listed as 1.5 point favorites, while the total is set at 43.5.

Analysis:  The Cincinnati Bengals have taken over the lead in the AFC North with their surprising road win over New Orleans last week. The win now has them at 6-3-1 overall and 2-2 on the road. The Bengals are 8-1 ATS off a DD ATS win vs an NFC opponent and 13-5 ATS in their last 18 games after allowing less than 15 points in their previous game, but just 0-6 ATS in their last 6 meetings. The Bengals have been an average offensive team, ranking 17th in total yards, 21st in passing, 9th in rushing and 16th in scoring (22.4 ppg). The defense for this team has not been great, ranking 28th in yards allowed, 20th vs the pass, 28th vs the run and 15th in points allowed (22.1 ppg).

The Houston Texans come in off an impressive 23-7 win on the road over Cleveland. The win now has them back to .500 on the year and they are just 1 game behind the Colts in the AFC South. The Texans are 8-2-1 ATS in their last 11 games following a SU win of more than 14 points and 12-5-1 ATS in their last 18 games after allowing less than 15 points in their previous game, but also 2-11 ATS in their last 13 games following a ATS win. The Texans are a very average offensive team, ranking 15th in total yards, 28th in passing, 3rd in rushing and 15th in scoring (22.9 ppg). The defense for this team has mixed results as they rank 30th in yards allowed, 31st vs the pass, 16th vs the run, but are 9th in points allowed (20.4 ppg).

Pick: I am going to look at the Under in this game. The Houston offense is not all that good as they have been dealing with injuries and inconsistent play at QB. The Texans have averaged just 22.3 ppg at home this year and I don’t see them topping that in this one vs a Bengals defense that has struggled this year, but also come in with confidence after holding New Orleans to just 10 points last week. The Bengal offense has been a model of inconsistency this year, especially on the road where they have averaged just 16.8 ppg, while Houston has allowed just 21.8 ppg at home. The Under is 20-6-1 in Bengals last 27 games following a SU win of more than 14 points and 11-4 in Texans last 15 games following a SU win of more than 14 points. This one should be played in the mid 30s.
