The Trojans are 15-7 ATS in their last 22 games following a bye week, but also 5-13 ATS in their last 18 road games and 2-9 ATS in their last 11 road games vs. a team with a winning home record. USC has been a solid offensive squad this year, ranking 34th in scoring, 19th in passing, 65th in rushing and 29th in scoring (35.2 ppg). the defense has been decent, ranking 68th in total yards allowed, 105th vs the pass, 31st vs the run and 37th in points allowed (23.3 ppg).
The UCLA Bruins have had a nice year as they are 8-2 overall, but haven't really played all that well as they are just 3-7 ATS. UCLA is 5-2 in the Pac-12, and that has them in a 3 way tie for 2nd place in the Pac-12 South and a half game behind USC. The Bruins are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games in November and 15-6 ATS in their last 21 home games vs. a team with a winning road record, but just 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games after scoring more than 40 points in their previous game. UCLA has been a solid offensive squad, ranking 18th in total yards 30th in passing, 30th in rushing and 32nd in scoring (34.7 ppg). The defense for this team has been below average, ranking 79th in yards allowed, 97th vs the pass, 64th vs the run and 79th in points allowed (27.9 ppg).
Pick: I am going to look for this to be a shootout. The USC offense has been a strong bunch all year as they have put up 25 ppg overall and 36.6 ppg in in their last 7 PAC-12 games. They will face a UCLA defense that has held just 1 of their last 6 opponents to less than 30 points. This defense has been torched many times this year, while the offense has put up plenty of points on the year, averaging 35 ppg overall and 37 ppg in conference play. USC did just allow 30 points to a high powered Cal offenses last week so they can be scored on and UCLA surely will. I look for this one to be played in the upper 60’s.
