NFL Football Philadelphia Eagles at Green Bay Packers Start Time, Odds, Free Pick

Time for Green Bay Packers to Prove They Belong Among the NFC Heavyweights

The Green Bay Packers welcome in the Philadelphia Eagles in NFL Football action later today. The game is scheduled for a 4:25 p.m. start time and it will be televised live on FOX. Currently the odds for the game have the Packers favored at home to get the win.

Green Bay has been nearly impossible to beat at Lambeau Field over the years and are 4-0 again this season. Yet, the Eagles went into a snowy Green Bay last season and knocked off the Packers 27-13. Green Bay always seems to get the best from quarterback Aaron Rodgers in front of his home crowd, though. Today could be more of the same for Rodgers and the Packers as they welcome in an Eagles team that can give up some points. Playing in the freezing cold and snow could also have an impact on this game today.

Philadelphia is now starting Mark Sanchez at quarterback after Nick Foles got banged up with a collarbone injury. The Eagles have really gotten good use out of their quarterbacks with Chip Kelley's system and Sanchez has the opportunity to continue to put up big numbers. While on the Jets, Sanchez really never had a chance to succeed because of their offense. Now he's in a better system with better athletes all over the field. Philly scored 45 points last week over Carolina, but getting anywhere close to that number against Green Bay won't be easy.

The Packers score a ton of points and are able to keep the football away from their opponents with sustained drives. Rodgers and the Packers aren't the best team at running the football but with Eddie Lacy they always have a good option. The Packers can run the football if they need to and getting yards against the Eagles is possible. Rodgers has already tossed 25 touchdowns and better than 2,400 yards, but will it be the running attack today that makes the difference?

Both Philly and Green Bay are coming off impressive primetime wins. Green Bay scored 55 points and are averaging better than 41 points per game at Lambeau this season. The Packers have scored at least 31 points in every home game this season and should be able to do that again today against Philly.

This could be a solid game between two teams that can score points, but Green Bay is playing too well and at home they're going to be tough to beat with Rodgers at quarterback. Last year the Packers didn't have the former MVP and this year it'll be different.

Free Pick: Green Bay 38, Philadelphia 24
