The Green Bay Packers welcome in the Chicago Bears on Sunday Night Football action tonight. The game is scheduled for an 8:30 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on NBC. Currently the odds for the game have the Packers favored by better than a touchdown to get the win.
Green Bay enters tonight's game against Chicago looking to distance themselves from the Chicago Bears and Minnesota Vikings in the NFC North. The Packers are still looking up at the Detroit Lions in the standings, but there's a very good chance both of those teams will make the playoffs. Green Bay can ill afford to pick up a loss here, at home, against the Bears.
Chicago has not had a good season, but a win over the rival Packers could help them get things turned around. The Bears have a pair of winnable games the next two weeks before heading to Detroit for Thanksgiving, and a win here would be huge.
Aaron Rodgers and the Packers are 3-0 at Lambeau Field so far this season, averaging 37 points per game there this season. They've beaten the Jets, Vikings and Panthers (none of those teams are very good this season) and looked impressive doing it as well. And while the Packers don't rank inside the Top 10 in either passing yards or rushing yards this season, they have still been solid offensively. Eddie Lacy hasn't really gotten it going yet this season but both he and James Starks average better than four yards per carry.
Chicago QB Jay Cutler has turned it over too much this season, tossing eight interceptions this season while fumbling it nine times. That's 17 turnovers by just one player, which is certainly not good. Cutler has thrown 20 interceptions in his career against the Packers as well, which doesn't bode well for Alshon Jeffery, Brandon Marshall and the Bears receivers who will be looking to catch the football.
Matt Forte could have a decent game, though, for Chicago. Green Bay allows the most rushing yards per game to opponents this season at better than 153 yards per game. If the Packers can't slow him down the Bears will have a solid chance at remaining in this game.
But Green Bay has played too good at home this season. They've destroyed everyone at Lambeau and the Packers are just the better overall team. They'll beat up on Chicago.
