Seattle has struggled this season with a pedestrian 4-3 record, finding out that defending the Super Bowl title isn't as easy as it may appear. The lone loss came to the Cowboys where nearly everyone was surprised Dallas went west and picked up the win.
To be a double digit dog, especially by two touchdowns, does not bode well for anybody in the NFL. Oakland has proven to be better than the worst team in the league this season, but Seattle at home is tough to beat and Oakland just doesn't have the team to be able to pull it off. The Raiders just lost on the road at Cleveland and now have fallen to 0-7 for the year. They've at least been competitive, however.
Seattle QB Russell Wilson will lead the Seahawks down the field often in this one. The dual-threat QB should be able to beat the Raiders with his arm and feet in this one. Wilson isn't a guy that fills the stat sheet every week with a ton of passing yards but his footwork has helped him avoid pressure and pick up big chunks of yards when needed. That ability has helped win Seattle football games, so expect him to be able to continue that today.
Winning last week at Carolina was huge for this Seahawks team, which might have the biggest home field advantage in the NFL. If they can score early in this one, it will be over. Oakland has been out-scored 80-30 combined in the first and third quarters this year, showing they aren't ready to go as the game begins and the second half starts. That's where Seattle will make them pay.
Oakland will have trouble moving the football against a Seahawk defense that needs to play better. Oakland is 0-3 on the road, having lost to the Jets, Patriots and Browns, but none of which have been blowouts. That will change today.
