College Football Kansas Jayhawks at Baylor Bears Start Time, Odds, Free Pick

How Oklahoma, Baylor Losses Shake Up Big 12 Conference

The Baylor Bears host the Kansas Jayhawks in college football action on Saturday. The game is scheduled for a 4:00 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on FOX Sports 1. Currently the odds for the game have the Bears favored by better than five touchdowns in this one.

Baylor looked like the best team in the country, but found a way to slip up and lose at West Virginia in their last game. Baylor has been Baylor most of the season, racking up 49 points per game and piling up better than 575 offensive yards per game. A home matchup against lowly Kansas should result in the Bears meeting both of those averages as the Jayhawks just aren't a good football team.

Kansas has two wins on the season, both back in September over Southeast Missouri State and Central Michigan. They've lost four in a row but have represented themselves better, but still not being able to get wins. The Jayhawks are far removed from a 2007 campaign that saw them win 12 games, including an Orange Bowl title. They followed that up with a decent 8-5 season and even started 2009 with a 5-0 record but since then have gone just 9-48 overall.

Back in that 2007 season Kansas drilled the Bears 58-10, but Baylor has responded by winning the next four games by an average of 30 points per game. It should be more of the same in this one as Baylor out-gains their opponents this season by 268 yards per game, best in the country.

And they still have to be putting things back together from a two-touchdown loss in Morgantown. That Baylor team did not play well against the Mountaineer 3-3-5 defense. The Bears had every opportunity to win the game as well, forcing three West Virginia turnovers but not being able to equate them into a win.

Baylor's Bryce Petty has a 17-to-3 touchdown to interception ratio and has completed passes for better than 1,700 yards this season. Baylor is going to want to cruise in this game and building up a lead against Kansas early in the game can help them accomplish that.

Sure, Baylor loves to throw the football but they are very good in keeping it on the ground as well. The 6-1 Bears average 229 yards on the ground per game with Shock Linwood and Johnny Jefferson each averaging at least five yards per carry this season.

Look for Baylor to roll in this one.
