The Indianapolis Colts will travel to take on the Pittsburgh Steelers in NFL Football action Sunday. The game is scheduled for a 4:25 p.m. start time and it will be televised live on CBS. Currently the odds for the game have the Colts as a road favorite in this one.
This matchup between Indianapolis and Pittsburgh has the makings of one of the best games of the day. The Steelers are coming in off a short week, but they did pick up a win Monday night over the Houston Texans. They'll play their second straight AFC South team here today, looking to knock off the Colts.
Pittsburgh has won two of their three games at home this season, but only sit at 4-3 for the year. The Colts come into town having picked up two of their three games away from home and lead the division. Andrew Luck and his group of receivers lead the league in passing yards this season, averaging nearly 330 per game through the air. And it's not like the Colts can't run the football, either. Indy has gotten better than 123 yards on the ground per game this season, giving them an average of 453 per game offensively, which is far better than the league average and best in the league. Only two other teams — New Orleans and Dallas — average better than 400 yards offensively per game. The Colts come in with a 31-point per game average as well, which is second to only Denver in the league this year.
The aging Pittsburgh defense could be in for a tough day. The Steelers rank 15th in yards allowed per game defensively, which equates to teams scoring better than 23 points per game against Pittsburgh.
Luck might be the best quarterback the Steelers have seen to date this season, and the Colts are favored here on the road. Indianapolis' defense will play a big role in this game today as well. The Colts have won five straight games heading into this contest, having allowed opponents to score just 15 points per game during that span.
Coming off a short week, Ben Roethlisberger and Le'Veon Bell will have to pace the Pittsburgh offense. Indianapolis will be bringing pressure frequently in this one and if the Steelers are going to win, they'll have to find a way to keep the Colt offense off the field. That's easier said than done.
