The Rams are 0-5 ATS the last 5 in this series and 5-1 ATS in their last 6 Week 8 games, but are also 0-6 ATS in their last 6 games after allowing more than 350 total yards in their previous game. The Rams are a decent offensive team, ranking 13th in total yards, 11th in passing, 18th in rushing and 24th in scoring (21.5 ppg). The defense was to be the strength of this team, but it has not held up all that well, ranking 23rd in yards allowed, 14th vs the pass, 28th vs the run and 31st in points allowed (29.3 ppg).
The Kansas City Chiefs had an impressive win of their own last week as they went into San Diego and came away with the 23-20 win. The Chiefs are now 3-3 on the year and are in 3rd place in the AFC West. The Chiefs are 1-5 ATS as favorites of more than 1 point vs an opponent off a SU dog win and 12-5 ATS in their last 17 week 8 games, but are just 1-6 ATS in their last 7 home games. The Chiefs come in ranked 21st in total offense, 30th in passing, 3rd in rushing and 13th in scoring, while on the defensive side of the ball they are ranked 10th in total yards allowed, 2nd vs the pass, 18th vs the run and 7th in points allowed (20.2 ppg).
Pick: I feel that the Rams can keep this one close and maybe even pull a shocker. The Rams have looked like a better team with Austin Davis running the show and the Chiefs are not really a team that will blow out many teams. I can see the Rams building off their momentum from last week’s upset win over the Seahawks and should they lose this one it be by no more than 3 or 4 points.
