Pro Football Betting Odds Minnesota Vikings vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers Free Pick

Sunday NFL and we will see the Minnesota Vikings take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida. The game has a start time of 1:00 pm (Eastern) and will be televised on CBS. Current Vegas odds have the Buccaneers listed as 2.5 point favorites, while the total is set at 41.5.

Analysis:  The Minnesota Vikings started the year with an impressive 34-6 win over the Rams on the road, but since then they have won just 1 of their last 6 games and have scored 16 points or less in all 5 losses. The Vikings are 7-2 ATS in their last 9 games following a S.U. loss, but they are also 1-7-1 ATS in their last 9 games in October and 2-8 ATS in their last 10 games in Week 8. The Vikings are not a good offensive team overall, ranking 29th in total yards, 32nd in passing, 10th in rushing and 30th in scoring (17.1 ppg). The defense for the Vikings has been somewhat decent, ranking 13th in yards allowed, 9th vs the pass, 19th vs the run and 14th in points allowed (22.9 ppg).

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have had a horrible start to their year, with a 1-6 record overall, which includes an 0-3 mark at home. Tampa is off a bye week, but prior to the Bye they were pasted at home by a 48-17 score by the Ravens and earlier thei year they lost 56-14 to the Falcons. This is a bad team. The Buccaneers are 17-35-1 ATS in their last 53 home games, but they are also 6-0 ATS the least 6 meetings between these teams here and 6-2 ATS following a bye week. The Bucs are a poor offensive squad that comes in ranked 30th in total offense, 24th in passing offense, 28th in rushing and 26th in scoring (20 ppg). The defense is even worse as they come in ranked 32nd in yards allowed, 32nd vs the pass, 25th vs the run and 32nd in points allowed (34 ppg).

Pick: This one is tough to call and frankly one I probably won’t get involved. The Buccaneers are a horrible team this year and really don’t feel they deserve to be favored over anyone right now. The Vikings have not been that impressive this year either, but at least they have been more competitive and I feel they are the overly more talented team in this game. I’ll take the better team getting points here.
