The No. 9 Oregon Ducks welcome in the Washington Huskies in college football action on Saturday night. Currently the College Football Betting Odds for the game have the Ducks favored by three touchdowns.
This should be a good Pac-12 matchup between a pair of solid teams. Oregon is still fighting for a spot in the college football playoff and find themselves ranked ninth. The Ducks obviously didn't play well when they hosted Arizona a couple of weeks ago, but they bounced back last week with a big win on the road in Los Angeles. Both of these teams are battling Stanford for the top spot in the Pac-12 North and are the three teams in that division that have only one loss.
Washington comes to Eugene with a 5-1 record, having only lost to the Cardinal a couple of weeks ago at home, 20-13. Chris Peterson has a very good Husky team, but will they be able to slow down the Ducks? Washington allows opponents to score an average of just 21 points per game this season. Oregon's lowest output of the year was the 24 points in the loss to Arizona.
Marcus Marioata is back in the Heisman talk as long as the Ducks continue to put together victories. Mariota has tossed for 1,600 yards and 17 TDs while running for five more scores this year. Oregon can beat you through the air or on the ground and they have weapons at every position.
The oddsmakers certainly have a lot of respect for the Ducks, laying three scores here. Oregon has won 10 straight games over Washington by an average of nearly four touchdowns. Add to that some brief history for the Ducks: Oregon hasn't lost back-to-back games at home since the 2002 season so don't expect them to fall in this one.
Washington will try to slow the game down against the Ducks, but they won't be able to piece together drives long enough to keep Oregon off the scoreboard. The Huskies don't do anything great, but are a very solid club. While they played Stanford very tough a couple of weeks ago, this Oregon team is a different problem for the Huskies, who won't be able to counteract the speed and athleticism.
