The 15h-ranked Oklahoma State Cowboys travel to take on the 12th-ranked TCU Horned Frogs in Big 12 college football action on Saturday. Currently the College Football Odds for the game have TCU favored by a comfortable margin in this contest.
This is the second of a pair of very important Big 12 games on Saturday. Oklahoma and Kansas State take to the field in an earlier contest with a lot riding on the line as well.
Oklahoma State is surprising some people. They're a young squad that is dealing with some turnover on the roster, but the Cowboys have only one loss on the season, the opener to Florida State down in Jerry's World. The Cowboys gave the defending national champions a good run in that game as well but since then haven't had a tough test on the gridiron.
While Mike Gundy's team is now 5-1, their wins have come over Missouri State, UTSA, Texas Texas and Iowa State at home before going on the road last week and beating Kansas.
TCU beat Oklahoma couple of weeks ago, but gave away a game last week against Baylor. The Horned Frogs led that contest by three touchdowns, but the Bears stormed back to win by scoring 24 fourth quarter points.
Trevone Boykin will look to move the Frogs into being able to score points in this one. TCU averages almost 46 points per game this season, which ranks third best in the country. But Boykin is a bit banged up with a wrist problem. There was a report earlier this week saying he'd miss potentially six weeks, but TCU said he's going to play on Saturday. Obviously he gives the Frogs a chance to win any game, but the defense will have to play better.
OK State will keep this one close. They haven't played a tough opponent in awhile, so TCU will certainly be a test. Boykin will get the job done in what should be a closer game than many expect.
