A battle of Top 25 teams in the Big 12 take place on Saturday between the Kansas State Wildcats and the Oklahoma Sooners. Currently the College Football Odds for the game have Oklahoma favored by more than a touchdown.
Both Oklahoma and Kansas State find themselves in the Top 15 nationally. The Sooners have picked up nine wins in the last 11 matchups between these two schools and own a commanding 63-9-1 record against Kansas State all-time. Yet, in those last 11 games they've covered the number just five times, so this game with Kansas State could be close.
And despite Oklahoma being ranked higher than Kansas State, the Wildcats still sit higher in the Big 12 standings over Oklahoma as the Sooners dropped a game two weeks ago at TCU.
In this one, Trevor Knight will have to play well. When Knight is tossing the ball all over the yard and not turning it over, the Sooners are tough to beat. But against TCU, Knight had two interceptions and it cost Oklahoma the game.
Kansas State might be one of the most underrated teams in the country, even at No. 14 in the rankings. The Wildcats nearly knocked off No. 5 Auburn a couple of weeks ago and have looked good in their other four games, all wins. The Wildcats are coming into this game off a bye week as well, so the preparation should be top-notch with Bill Snyder's team.
Jake Waters has lead this Kansas State team by giving them a dual-threat option yet again. Waters obviously leads the team in passing this season, pitching for better than 1,200 yards and seven scores. He's also the team's leading rusher (320 yards) and has six scores as well. Oklahoma will have to slow him down and play better than they did against Texas last week.
Bob Stoops always has his team ready to go in big games. Expect the same in this one with the defense playing well and Knight causing the Kansas State defense problems.
