College Football Odds Baylor Bears at West Virginia Mountaineers

TCU vs. Baylor: Score and Twitter Reaction

The fourth-ranked Baylor Bears will take on the West Virginia Mountaineers in college football action on Saturday. Currently the College Football Odds for the game have Baylor favored on the road to get the win.

Baylor is coming off a very nice win over TCU, where they trailed by three touchdowns in the fourth quarter. The Bears dodged the bullet and now sit at 6-0 on the season with the No. 5 ranking in the country. They're still alive for one of the critical spots in the college football playoff and have winnable games moving forward, but there are still potential pitfalls against the Oklahoma schools and Kansas State.

But Baylor is continuing to play at an extremely high level. The Bears are leading the country in scoring at just under 53 points per game. The defense has been a big plus this year as well, allowing opponents to score only 20 points per game, including the 58 from last week to TCU. That's going to help them in this one and moving forward.

West Virginia can move the football themselves, averaging almost 37 points per game. Clint Trickett has already thrown for over 2,200 yards and 12 scores. The only two losses for the Mountaineers this season came at the hands of Alabama and Oklahoma, so they should be ready to go in this one and not intimidated.

The last time Baylor was in Morgantown the Mountaineers picked up a 70-63 win. Then last year the Bears poured on 73 points over West Virginia. There have been no shortage of points in these contests and Baylor has piled up 1,572 yards of offense and 136 points against the Mountaineers the last two years combined.

West Virginia got a nice win last week over Texas Tech, scoring the final 17 points of the game. They're playing against a better defense in Baylor this week, but the Mountaineers will still be able to stack up yards.

Bryce Petty missed the game against Northwestern State earlier this season but still has thrown for 15 touchdowns and better than 1,500 yards. Last week against TCU Petty passed for more than 500 yards and six scores against a pretty solid Horned Frogs team. If he has anywhere close to the same numbers against West Virginia, the Bears will be putting up huge numbers again.

Baylor will also look to keep the ball on the ground and run over the Mountaineers. They're pasting opponents with better than 251 yards per game on the ground and should have no problem running against the West Virginia defense in this one.
