The Indianapolis Colts hit the road to take on the Houston Texans in an AFC South battle in NFL Football action tonight. The game is scheduled for an 8:25 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on CBS and the NFL Network. Currently the odds for the game have the Colts favored on the road by a field goal.
Andrew Luck has thrown for more touchdowns than any NFL quarterback to this point in the season. While he has a bevy of weapons around him, Luck and the Colts give off the vibe of being a hard-working team that earns no respect but instead has to go out and take it.
The Colts and Texans will battle for the top spot in the AFC South in this contest, both currently sitting at 3-2 on the season. Indy has owned this series of late, picking up wins in three consecutive spots over the Texans. They've also won nine consecutive Thursday night appearances.
When looking at the numbers this year, the Colts have really stepped out offensively. They average better than 31 points per game and have three wins over four AFC opponents so far this season.
Houston has been better defensively, allowing opponents only a shade over 17 points per game, also collecting both wins over AFC opponents and going 2-0 at home.
Indy already owns a pair of wins over Jacksonville and Tennessee, posting a 2-0 mark to date over AFC South opponents. This will be the first divisional game for the Texans, who have a running back not happy his team gets to play on Thursday.
Arian Foster has been pretty vocal in the media about hating playing on Thursday nights and saying the games are only for revenue making. While that may or may not be accurate, Foster did post a great point about players not being physically ready to play just a couple of days after Sunday.
Houston has been out-gained in all five games this season. They're scoring less than the Colts give up per game this season, but the Texan defense has been the difference so far for them.
Either way, the home team has covered the number in seven of eight in this series.
