The Dallas Cowboys welcome in the Houston Texans in NFL football action on Sunday. The game is scheduled for a 1 p.m. start time and it will be televised live on CBS. Currently the odds for the game have the Cowboys favored by almost a touchdown to get the win.
Dallas has turned around their season pretty quickly. The 3-1 start is the best for Dallas in six seasons and they have some momentum going after picking up three straight victories. Dallas won two of those games on the road over Tennessee and St. Louis before pounding on New Orleans at home last Sunday night.
Tony Romo has played better, as well, because there seems to be a little less pressure on him. That's because Dallas sports the best overall rushing attack in pro football, averaging 165 yards per game, led by DeMarco Murray. He's got five touchdowns so far this season and has averaged 5.4 yards per attempt so far this season. That's not necessarily good for the Texans, who are giving up 130 yards per game on the ground, which ranks 24th best in the NFL.
Houston also has a short week, hosting Indianapolis in a pretty big game on Thursday night.
Somehow the Texans are finding a way to get the job done. They haven't scored many points the last two weeks and the offense has sputtered to move the ball effectively. Ryan Fitzpatrick and his amazing beard could have a problem against the Dallas pass rush that will be looking to keep the Texans grounded. But, the Cowboys have been susceptible to the pass this season, allowing opponents to toss for 271 yards per game, which ranks 26th best in the league.
While the Cowboys have solid special teams, their turnover differential isn't good enough just yet. They sit at -2 for the season, so turnovers will obviously be important in this one against Houston.
Arian Foster is listed as "probable" so far for this one as of Saturday night, If he plays the Texans will have a chance, but overall Dallas is playing better and they get the win here.
