The Detroit Lions welcome in the Buffalo Bills in NFL Football action on Sunday. The game is scheduled for a 1 p.m. start time and it will be televised live on FOX. Currently the odds for the game have the Lions favored comfortably to win.
The Lions have gotten off to a pretty solid start to this season, sitting at 3-1 and first place in the NFC North. With the Packers already playing this week on Thursday and the Bears having a tough game at Carolina, a win here for the Lions could give them a nice little cushion in the division.
The major benefit for the Lions is their dominance at home. Detroit has played twice at Ford Field this season and has picked up a pair of comfortable wins — beating both the New York Giants and Green Bay Packers.
Defensively the Lions have been performing well. They rank second best in the league in opposing passing yards per game at 186.5 and sixth best in the league against the run, allowing opponents to rush for just under 81 yards per game.
Buffalo likes to run the football, but they are making a change at quarterback as well. Kyle Orton takes the helm for the Bills in this contest, starting for E.J. Manuel. The Bills apparently felt the need to make the switch at quarterback and believe Orton can give them a chance to win moving forward.
The Lions have had some talented teams the past couple of seasons, but this year it is paying off for them. Matt Stafford is making good decisions and even though Calvin Johnson has been a big banged up, the Lions have been moving the football and scoring points.
Buffalo is on the road for the second straight week, coming off a loss to Houston. They also have New England on deck. Not a good spot for the Bills.
