NFL Football Buffalo Bills at Houston Texans Start Time, Odds, Free Pick

Buffalo Bills: What to Watch for in Preseason Game Action Against Carolina

The Buffalo Bills and Houston Texans meet up in NFL football action on Sunday. The game is scheduled for a 1 p.m. start time and it will be televised live on CBS. Currently the odds for the game have Houston favored in this one at home.

Both the Bills and Texans have started the year 2-1. The winner of this game will certainly have a good amount of momentum moving forward. Houston actually leads the AFC South through three games while Buffalo is tied with New England atop the AFC East.

Obviously, checking Arian Foster's status for this game will be a huge plus or minus for the Texans. He's one of the best backs in the league when healthy, but when he can't go the Texans struggle running the football consistently. Ryan Fitzpatrick, the quarterback for Houston, will take to the field against his former team in the Bills in this one looking for some revenge against the team that let him go for a youngster in E.J. Manuel. Fitzpatrick might not be that type of player and just understands how the game works, but it still should sting. Fitzpatrick is just 30-50 in his career as an NFL with many of those starts coming in Buffalo.

Buffalo is pretty good at running the football, which is a problem for the Texans as Houston is not good at stopping the run this season, ranking just 25th best in the league. The Bills are just outside the Top 10 in the league at rushing yards per game and will have no problem handing the ball off to C.J. Spiller and Fred Jackson in this one.

The Bills will have to improve upon their recent road problems, though, as they've gone just 3-8 against the number their last 11 road games. Manuel is just 1-4 in five career starts away from home — getting sacked 24 times and committing seven turnovers during those games.

Houston will look to win this game on the line of scrimmage, though. With a very good defensive line they'll look to get after Manuel in this one an cause the Bills to have to speed up their offense or have problems getting anything going. if Foster plays it will give the Texans an even bigger option to score points offensively, but his status is still up in the air. Had he been at full strength and ready to go the Texans would be favored comfortably and it wouldn't be a problem.

Free Pick: Houston 20, Buffalo 17
