College Football Missouri Tigers at South Carolina Gamecocks Start Time, Odds, Free Pick

Position-by-Position Analysis of South Carolina's 2014 Roster

A big battle in the SEC takes place Saturday night in college football action tonight when the Missouri Tigers take on the South Carolina Gamecocks. The game is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on ESPN. Currently the odds for the game have the Gamecocks favored by under a touchdown in this one.

Huge matchup in the SEC here. The Missouri Tigers and South Carolina Gamecocks have both started the season with 3-1 records, but they have come in opposite forms.

South Carolina, now ranked 13th, began their season with a disappointing loss at home to Texas A&M, giving up 52 points and never really finding their footing. But the Gamecocks found a way to circle the wagons and get themselves back on track. They've won three straight over East Carolina, Georgia and Vanderbilt, but they have given  up a decent amount of points in those games.

Missouri opened their season with three solid wins, but last week they lost at home to Indiana, a middle-of-the-road Big Ten team that earned their biggest win in some time.

Was it a look-ahead to this game for the Tigers? More than likely, but now they've got to deal with playing South Carolina in this one tonight. ESPN College Gameday came to town and this game should not disappoint.

Missouri has been very good in turnover differential this season, sitting at +5 for the year. They have very solid special teams and a quarterback in Maty Mauk that is looking to have a huge impact on the game tonight.

South Carolina has not been good in the turnover department this year but they've been able to find a way to get it done anyway.

Last year Missouri led the Gamecocks 17-0 but they squandered the lead and eventually lost in overtime. That loss was the only one during the regular season for Missouri, but they did eventually lose to Auburn in the SEC title game as well.

Look for a strong game from Dillon Thompson and Mike Davis. The Tigers gave up nearly 500 yards to Indiana last week, better than 250 in the air and just over 240 on the ground.

Another loss for the Gamecocks would blackball them in the SEC with two losses. Missouri could (in theory) afford to lose and still have a great season. While there is a lot of pressure on South Carolina, with it being a night game we think the Gamecocks find a way to get ti done.
