The Texas Tech Red Raiders hit the road to take on the 24th-ranked Oklahoma State Cowboys in college football action Thursday. The game is scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on ESPN. Currently the odds for the game have the Cowboys favored by two touchdowns in this one.
As the Big 12 opener for both schools, this game is even more important for both Texas Tech and Oklahoma State. The Cowboys have found their way into the rankings this week after playing Florida State tough and knocking off a couple of smaller schools in their next two games.

Texas Tech needs to figure out how to stop people defensively. Defensive coordinator Matt Wallerstedt just resigned as the Red Raiders are giving up 36.7 points per game this season and a total of 298 yards on the ground to opponents this season. They also have been losing the turnover battle this season, sitting at -4 in the differential. The Red Raiders are also giving up better than 432 yards per game per season, the worst mark of any team in the Big 12 this season.
Daxx Garman has been playing well for the Pokes. He's taken over for J.W. Walsh at the quarterback position and has pitched four touchdowns in two games. He might have a problem leading OK State to the 59 points they've averaged the last three times in this series, but should lead them to a win. Oklahoma State has won 24 straight home games against unranked opponents and haven't lost to Texas Tech at home since the 2001 season.
