Pro Football Odds San Diego Chargers vs Buffalo Bills Free Pick

Sunday NFL and the San Diego Chargers will take on the Buffalo Bills at Ralph Wilson Stadium in Orchard Park, New York. The game has a start time of 1:00 pm (Eastern) and will be televised on CBS. Current Vegas odds have the Bills listed as 1.5 point favorites, while the total is set at 45.

Analysis:  The San Diego Chargers surprised many last year by going 9-7 on the year and making it to the 2nd round of the NFL playoffs, before bowing out to Denver. This year they started out on the wrong foot with an 18-17 loss to Arizona in the desert, but they bounced back strong last week with a 30-21 win over the defending Super Bowl champs, Seattle. Philip Rivers had a very nice bounce back year, last year, under the guidance of Mike McCoy, who fixed some of Philips mechanics, while also giving him more freedom at the line of scrimmage. He also had a very good game vs the Seahawks last week, hitting 27 of 38 passes for 276 yards with 3 TDs and no INTs. The Passing game is ranked 8 th in the league, but the Chargers do need their running game to step up and that task has been made more difficult now that Ryan Mathews is out for a few weeks. The defense for the Bolts has been decent, as they have allowed just 19.5 ppg through 2 games.

The Buffalo Bills are off another disappointing season, as they went just 6-10 last year and now haven’t made it to the playoffs since 1999. They have started this year on a very positive note, beating the Bears on the road and then last week they had a very easy 29-10 win over Miami. In that game the Bills had 315 yards of offense, while holding Miami to just 290 yards. Buffalo did benefit from a 2-0 TO edge and got a 102 yard kick return for a TD from CJ Spiller. Ej Manuel has been solid for the Bills thus far, but it has been a ground attack that is 8th in the league that has led this team. Spiller is the top ground gainer for the Bills, with 122 yards so far. The defense of the Bills is the strength of their team and even though they rank 28th in passing yards allowed (275.5 ypg), they are also 5th vs the run (83 ypg) and 6th in points allowed (15 ppg).

Pick: I will look to the Over in this game. The Bolts offense is clicking right now and really showed how good they can be vs the Seahawks. They have lost Ryan Mathews for a few weeks and that just means they will have to throw a bit more. Donald Brown is a solid back and will for the Bill LBs to pay attention to him, which means the throwing lanes should open even more for Rivers. The Buffalo offense is not a juggernaut, but their ground attack is very good and that will also help to open throwing lanes for EJ Manuel to pick apart a rather weak San Diego secondary. Lets also note that the Game 3 home favorites of less than 7 have gone 23-5 to the OVER if they played BB Unders in their first 2 games. This one should hit 50+.
