The Dallas Cowboys hit the road in NFL football action Sunday when they take on the St. Louis Rams. The game is scheduled for a 1 p.m. start time and it will be televised live on FOX. Currently the odds for the game have Dallas as the road favorite in this one.
Dallas picked up a nice win on the road last week, beating Tennessee to improve their record to 1-1 overall. While they are the most polarizing team in the NFL, the Cowboys aren't always playing at a very high level. After a win last week the Boys will be looking to piece some things together.
St. Louis also won their game last week, knocking off Tampa Bay. They battled a bit of a lightning delay but played well on special teams and got the job done. In that win the Rams blocked both a punt and a field goal.
For the Cowboys, we've seen that when DeMarco Murray is healthy, they are a good team. Tony Romo has been too inconsistent for his career, but can be very good as well. He's already thrown four interceptions this season compared to just a couple of touchdowns. He obviously needs to play better for Dallas to win, especially on the road.
The Rams dropped their only home game of the season in the opening week of the year, getting drilled by Minnesota. St. Louis has a bye next week, so they should have an inspired effort here with the Cowboys in town. And while St. Louis has been pretty pedestrian offensively this season, the Dallas defense has been pretty awful in recent seasons. This year, however, Dallas has improved a bit, beating more middle of the road so far.
Last year Dallas picked up the win between these two teams, in impressive fashion, 31-7. They had a huge yardage advantage and had big games from both Romo and Murray.
St. Louis has a very good front seven on their defense, but the Rams are battling some injuries there as well.
Look for Dallas to try and establish Murray and the run game. While the Dallas defense is still not where the Cowboys want to be, they should be able to play well against the Rams in this one. Look for Dallas to find a way to win this one on the road.
