NFL Football Atlanta Falcons at Cincinnati Bengals Start Time, Odds, Free Pick

Falcons vs. Bengals: What Are Experts Saying About Cincinnati?

The Atlanta Falcons head north to take on the Cincinnati Bengals in NFL Football action today. The game is scheduled for a 1 p.m. start time and it will be televised live on CBS. Currently the odds for the game have the Bengals favored to get the win in this one at home.

Both Cincinnati and Atlanta picked up wins in the opening week of the season. This should be a good contest as both offenses have star power and can put up a lot of points. Atlanta last week had to come from behind twice to beat the New Orleans Saints in a game that saw both teams eclipse 35 points. Cincinnati, on the other hand, hung on for a touchdown win over the Baltimore Ravens.

Last year the Falcons were horrendous away from their own stadium, losing all seven of their true road games on the road and going just 1-6 against the number. That doesn't bode well for them in this game as Cincinnati is a strong team at home. In fact, the Bengals hold one of the best home field advantages in football, winning all eight games their during the regular season last year. The Bengals did falter in the playoffs, however, losing in embarrassing fashion at home to the San Diego Chargers by 17 points. But this year Cincinnati is looking to bounce back from that loss and have another successful campaign at home.

Cincinnati has won 11 of 12 games overall at home, covering the number in 11 of those games as well.

This could be a letdown spot for the Atlanta, too. They beat a rival in overtime last week and have a short week, playing Tampa Bay on Thursday night. The Bengals will look to take advantage of the Falcons if they can get the ball on that side of the field. Last week they struggled scoring points once they crossed the 50-yard-line, at least touchdowns. Cincinnati logged 15 points on five field goals from six possessions getting the ball in Baltimore territory.

Matt Ryan will look to get the football to Julio Jones and Roddy White often in this one. If Atlanta can move the football consistently they're going to have no problem hanging around with Cincinnati in this one. Ryan threw for 448 yards last week with three touchdowns. On the other side, Andy Dalton will look to find A.J. Green and his weapons. Dalton threw for 301 and a touchdown last week, connecting with Green six times for better than 130 and the score.

Both teams were on the plus side of the turnover battle in their openers, so that will be an important part of this game today. Defensively Cincinnati is a better club than Atlanta, which gives the Bengals an edge when the Falcons have the football.
