College Football Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks at LSU Tigers Start Time, Odds, Free Pick

LSU Tigers vs. Sam Houston St. Bearkats Complete Game Preview

The LSU Tigers welcome in the Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks in college football action Saturday night. The game is scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on ESPNu. Currently the odds for the game have LSU favored at home by more than four touchdowns.

LSU, ranked 10th in the country, will be looking for their second straight home win in this contest. The Tigers beat Wisconsin on a neutral field in the opener, coming back with a massive fourth quarter. Last week they drilled Sam Houston State 56-0. Quarterback Anthony Jennings has looked promising at time and it looking to still improve. Playing a second straight week against an inferior opponent should help that cause. Les Miles has an exciting team that is playing some youngsters, but the Tigers are growing up quickly.

These schools have met twice all-time. LSU has out-scored ULM 100-7 in those two contests combined and this one probably won't be very close, either. But LSU does have Mississippi State on deck next week in a tough conference battle.

Both LSU and ULM are in the plus-side of the turnover battle this season and those will be important in this one. LSU's speed and athleticism on defense is going to cause the Warhawks to have to play quicker than they want to. ULM has played against SEC schools in recent years and given them some solid games — beating Arkansas 34-31 and losing to Auburn 31-28 back in 2012. The Warhawks did barely squeak past Idaho last week, picking up a touchdown will less than 10 seconds left in the game. They could have been looking ahead to this one and because of that nearly got beat by the Vandals. ULM won't look ahead to anybody next week with a bye game on deck.

The running attack from LSU will be the key to this game. Leonard Fournette made the mistake of flashing the Heisman pose last week against Sam Houston State. Miles can use this as a learning experience for the youngster and challenge him to run well in this one. the combination with Kenny Hilliard will help the Tigers win a comfortable one here. The duo have averaged better than five yards per carry this season. Look for more of that in this one.
