NFL Football Tennessee Titans at Kansas City Chiefs Start Time, Odds

Kansas City Chiefs vs. Minnesota Vikings: Report Card for Each Chiefs Unit

The Tennessee Titans and Kansas City Chiefs make their NFL regular season start tonight against each other in Arrowhead Stadium. The game is scheduled for a 1 p.m. start time and it will be televised live on CBS. Currently the odds for the game have the Chiefs favored at home.

Tennessee is a hot pick and many aren't expecting Kansas City to replicate what they did last season. The Titans absolutely can win this game and also have a revenge angle coming in from last season's 26-17 loss to the Chiefs. The Titans turned the football over three times in that game, resulting in 13 Kansas City points.

The Chiefs will want to get Jamaal Charles the rock and get it to him often. The best backs in the league are always going to have to face teams that have the top goal of stopping them every week, but it still isn't easy. Charles will be running behind a pretty beat up offensive line, however, so that will play a role.

Dwayne Bowe is suspended for the Chiefs as well and Donnie Avery is going to be Alex Smith's top target. The Chiefs can spread the ball around today, but are going to need players to step up.

Ken Wisenhunt is the new guy in Tennessee. As the former San Diego coach, he probably has a good idea of what to expect out of Kansas City. Jake Locker is a bulldog type quarterback, but he no longer has Chris Johnson in the backfield to take some pressure off the young signal caller. Locker is going to have to play well for the Titans to be in this game with a chance to win.

And how will Locker deal with the pass rush from the Chiefs? Kansas City has a very good front seven that can cause him problems today. The KC last year had 47 sacks on the season, which was good for sixth best in the NFL.

Turnovers, like in any game, will be ket. The Chiefs were +18 in that category last year, which helped them reach the post season. This one could come down to the later stages of the game with KC being beat up on the offensive line and the Titans looking for the upset. Is Kansas City still stinging from their 28-point blown lead in the playoffs to Indianapolis last season or have they recovered from that?
