This year they have 53 lettermen back, including 14 starters and look to make another run at a bowl game. Oregon state played a rather lackluster game vs Portland State, but still they did enough to win the game 29-14. They did roll up 504 yards of total offense and Sean Mannion did throw for 328 yards, but they were are just 3 of 14 on third downs and had to settle for 4 FGs in the game. The defense was solid as they allowed just 214 total yards, including 83 through the air. The Beavers also picked off 2 passes and had 3 fumble recoveries in the game.
1-15! That is the mark that the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors have put up in their first two years in MWC play. Im not sure this year will be a whole lot better, even with 48 lettermen back including 13 starters. The seat is getting hot under norm chow as his team in yet another rebuilding year. The Hawaii Rainbows started their year with a loss, but they played really well in the 17-16 defeat at the hands of the Washington Huskies. The Rainbow Warriors had 217 yards rushing and outgained the more powerful Huskies by 88 yards in the game. Joey Iosefa led that ground attack with 143 yards on 30 carries and 1 TD. Defensively, Hawaii allowed Washington just 336 yards of total offense, including just 162 yards through the air.
Pick: I like the Under in this game. Hawaii may play some uptempo here but still this is a team that should run more than they will throw and they will be facing another Pac-12 squad that has a solid defense. The Hawaii defense was rather impressive vs the Huskies and I see them having another solid outing in this one. Both teams will have a hard time notching many points vs these defenses.
