The Louisiana Ragin Cajuns have dropped the Lafayette portion of their name and are looking to build their new brand. The 2014 Louisiana Ragin Cajuns Schedule does have some really tough games on the schedule, but they might be the best team in the Sun Belt Conference.

The Ragin Cajuns won nine games each of the last three seasons, all of which saw them qualify for a bowl game. Last season they beat Tulane in the New Orleans Bowl and Mark Hudspeth is looking for more from his team this season. 

They averaged almost 34 points per game last season and return Terrance Broadway at quarterback. He might be the best QB in the Sun Belt and threw for better than 2,400 yards and 19 touchdowns last year. He did have surgery on his throwing arm for a break but is expected to be back on schedule and playing when the team takes the field on Aug. 30 against Southern. 

The Ragin Cajuns have a whole lot of talent at wide receiver this season with guys coming back and transfer guys coming in. They also have very good running backs coming back to school as well, so the Ragin Cajuns should have a very good offense this season full of skill positioned players. Alonzo Harris scored 14 touchdowns last season and also has a solid backup with Elijah McGuire, who scored eight touchdowns last season. On the offensive line, Louisiana will return four starters from last year's team.

If the defense can be solid this season they are going to be very good. They return eight guys that saw significant time on the field last season, which should help them get better on that side of the ball. They have some tough games but we think they are going to be a very tough squad this season.
